You can "lateral" after 2 years I believe. The county and state corrections certification are the same. Look at Clark county or Multunomha (sic) county down in Portland.

I'll tell ya, unless you have a shady past or something, you don't have to worry at all. If the WADOC won't pick you up, your in BIG trouble.

Re: Washington DOC Secretary Harold Clarke Resigns; Accepts Top Massachusetts Post
Hey there Robeans, I am retiring from the Navy after 21 years and looking to work with DOC. I am in backgrounds right now. Looking to start in a Jan academy. How much OT can I expect? Is it safe to say I dictate that or is there mandatory OT. Thanks...Tony

Re: Washington DOC Secretary Harold Clarke Resigns; Accepts Top Massachusetts Post
Starting in Walla Walla? Well if it's OT you want, it's OT you'll get! Really, right now it's quiet because we have hired a bunch of people and have no where to put them. But early next year we will begin to open 900 new beds and at that point I am guessing that we will have more OT than people can handle. Probably mandatory OT for most. You'll find that you can sign up for OT and can take charge of when and how you get it. But if it goes down like I think it will, everyone will be working a lot for the better part of a year.
Congrats on your retirement! We have former squids all over the place around here so you'll fit right in. |

WCC has their complaints like everywhere else, but overall it's a pretty good place to work. |

Re: Washington DOC Secretary Harold Clarke Resigns; Accepts Top Massachusetts Post
The best thing that happened to doc is when Harold Clarke left washington ACA was the BIGEST JOKE that I have seen in 13yrs it's all kind and carring now they want to run close and Max custody like a Camp that's right we have an out of control supt and she came from camp. Uniforms that CI put together fall apart in a couple of month at CBCC you can't get a new one untill laundry states it can't be repaired anymore.
