Real Civics
I read a lot here and there. Talk a little and learn a bunch. Then I watch some t.v. that holds up stereotypes and outright public lies. Then the wheels start turning in my head and I got some contemplation going. Now, I will request a new section for "Real Civics" not that crap in high school that bored you to tears but the stuff that will save you from legal trouble, getting shot, death and dismemberment etc, etc.
An example of a "Real Civics" topic, you ask? -- The Police are not responsible for the protection of individuals: [citizens or residents] (please read: Dial 911 and Die by Richard W. Stevens) Case law examples: Castle Rock v. Gonzales, Warren v. District [read as: Republic] of Columbia, Bowers v. Devito, Riss v. [Republic of] New York -- The Cost of Self-Defense: If you had to defend your life [deliver yourself from evil or protect family from immediate deadly harm, or serious sexual assault] what is the collateral damage for you as a private citizen or a law enforcement official if off-duty? [In North Carolina it has been argued successfully that you have no right to self-defense with deadly force.] What do you think? Like it, hate it, lump it, tell me to go take a hike or long walk off a short pier, hit me back!
