Some Union should file a complaint to ?OPM? about all the bull**** with unitec. And the whole uniform program. Your going to tell me I have to order pant without trying them on. Yeah fuc that. I will never buy the pants unless I receive a written letter of counseling for failing to do so.

We got a bunch of guys wearing the 5.11 pants, we all know that they are not the "authorized" pants but no one has gotten told not to wear them yet. I think they are great...they are about $40 but will probably last 3 times as long as the authorized garbage and fit great.

I have been wondering since my first day with the BOP...Why cant the BOP get the real uniform companies to supply our uniforms? Companies like Blauer, Elbeco, 5-11 etc. etc...

Re: Uniform Issues

But would it not be more cost effective to have to pay for one good uniform rather then 5 bad ones

Since the Uniforms would be made in such large Bulk and would sell till the uniforms changed again. Thats easy money for any company. And I'm sure any large company would take it.

5:11 pants cost about $24 bucks. Thats pretty much what we pay already. I bet the larger companies would be able to provide better prices as well. Since they now they will sell and sell for Years. Thats money you can depend on. Look at it this way. We get $400 bucks a Year. Now there are 114 correctional institutions. Now they say there is 34,000 employees. $34,000 x $400 = $13,600,000. Now I know not all of the employees wears these uniforms or spend all of there $400 on uniforms. But wouldn't you think any company would like to have a chunk of 13 million dollars.
