Think of the future?? LMAO!! We have people on here bucking the vests saying they don't want them cause they may be manditory, wanting to keep 4 hours sick leave so they don't give any back.....come on...... I'm all for gettin what is mine, but I make DAMN sure my family sees me at the end of the day, and that thay are taken care of. I'm afraid there are lots of persons in the BOP that can't think past the end of the week. Wear a vest?? Too much hassle and too uncomfortable....... save some sick leave so I have some when I get shanked while not wearing my vest?? Please......like THAT could ever happen!! Not ME!! I am all that is man!!

Well, I for one can tell you that I keep about 500 on the books, but I will be saving it now that they are gonna be paying 100%! (assuming it passes the senate) I'll take that check when I retire!!

Once I am done taking S/L because of severe pain I will have OWCP pay there 75% and I will pay my 25% and I will get it all back eventually. I will be having another back surgery in a couple of weeks because the fusion part of my 1st surgery did not take, needless to say I am in constant pain, some days good, some days bad. This time I am going on LWOP, supposedly I will be bringing home more than my regular check. we'll see. The moral of the story save some S/L you might just need it.
I can't agree with you more. I am at -2.50. Basically the same reason as you. had back surgery due to an inmate I had to wrestle in the rec yard to get cuffed. I had 750 hours sick leave had to use all of that. I used 140 hours annual leave and then had to get 180 hours of advanced sick leave. I am glad I saved my sick leave like I did. I am not sure how going LWOP will bring in more money. You don't get paid on LWOP. I would like to know hwo you are getting OWCP to pay 75% of yours. I think they owe me money or sick leave hours.

Oh did I forget to mention I now have breast cancer and will have to be seen regularly by medical oncologist, breast surgeon and radiation oncologist. All of which are 2 hours away from where I live. It is going to be fun, but I will do what I had done for the years leadng up to the back surgery. Try to make those damn appts on my days off. At least the Army has taken care of me for the last 17 months.

and why is that not workmans comp? Getting hurt on the job wrestling an inmate? I have had 3 back surgeries (not work related) and all in total I did not use 750 hours of sick leave.
