We do ice cream socials, pumpkin carving, and Inmate Family Day here.

As for spending the thugs' trust fund money, let them by all the Christmas trees they want.

We have several Christmas trees here including a Mall size which is pre-lit and pre-decorated that sits in our Atrium (well, mini-mall size, not MOA).

Why waste your time with FOIA requests when you can get a Business Office staff to tell youy all that juicy stuff?

I tried a FOIA one time but they wanted to charge me $200.00 in copying fees, so if you ask for something make it small.

Re: BOP Manager Bonuses

SES staff receive bonus monies based on their performance evaluation. I have never seen an SES get anything less han an outstanding. Therefore, the bonus may range from 6k to almost 15k depending. GS wardens who are retirement eligible may receive a retention bonus of up to 10% of there annual salary. GS-15's and below get a QSI or SSP depending on their annual evaluation. Therefore, if you are a GS-15 with an outstanding eval, and retirement eligible, you may be sitting better than most SES wardens with an Exceeds eval..... should there be any.

Now, there are those SES and 15's that buck the system, so they call in OIA to sustain a case on them. Once that is done, they can only get an Exceeds eval, no matter what they have done. Also, if they have a sustained charge, they are NOT entititled to a bonus or retention pay.

I know all of you may want to call OIA and open a case on your LOP warden, but remember, if he or she is a favorite, that will never fly. The RD simply protects them and converts the allegation to a complaint, and it is no longer a conduct issue.

The BOP has gone so far right, that it protects those who won't or can't make a decision. Those who do, get it in the A$$.

Re: BOP Manager Bonuses

The other 292 award recipients were named Meritorious Executives and Senior Professionals, an honor limited to 5 percent of the corps. They will receive awards worth 20 percent of their base pay, a minimum of $22,894, and up to $34,400 in agencies with certified appraisal systems, and $31,700 in agencies without them.

M. Faith Burton
Ronnie A. Carter
D. Scott Dodrill
Wilfred L. Ford
Stuart Frisch
Timothy P. Garren
Irva D. Greene
Seth G. Heald
James C. Kilbourne
Barry M. Sabin

The NE Regional Director is on the list. I don't recall ever seeing awards this big at any recall I've ever been to.

I got bored and did some math.

61 managers get awards of $40,063 to $60,270
average $50,166x61=$3,121,126

292 managers get awards of $22,894 to $34,400
average $28,647x$8,364,924

That's $11,486,050 using the average amounts of awards. Not a bad gig if you can get it. Kind of helps me understand why nobody in Gov't is going after the corruption in in Gov't or the private sector. Keep your mouth shut and do what your told and will put a little something extra in yoour paycheck.

In fact, one of you retirees could express your love for BOP managers and become a "Master Administrator Bonus FOIA Requestor." It's a fine title that I just created. Sounds really cool and bureaucratic! Maybe Cory will create a flashy logo to go with it.

Shorti? Are you interested?

Attached is a fine example of the good work that can me accomplished by a "Master Administrator Bonus FOIA Requestor."
Good job on that FOIA Request, when, I get back to the joint, I am going to make requests for each year we have had our Warden ( four years ). Want to see what he got and the staffing level we could have had if the non-sense called pay for performance did not exsist. i will then send the info to the Senators and Congressmen, showing what I have been preaching about; " Security & Safety have a price " !
