It is called MDC Chicago, for Metropolitan Detention Center. It's a big federal jail.

I wouldn'twant to go to Chicago for one simple reason...no guns allowed. They think its ok to punch holes in the Constitution and take away everyone's right to keep and bear arms...that is everyone except the criminal.

That's one of the reasons why LEOSA is law. Chicago can't do away with it. They hate that, but cannot do away with it, because LEOSA preempts their law concerning LE concealed carry.

I know that, but what I was referring to was a lack of places to go and enjoy your firearms without having to drive 100 miles.

I carry, but I enjoy shooting also.

I was just up there a couple weeks ago on a bus run. I wouldn't live or work there for all the gold in Ft. Knox. People drive like its the Daytona 500. The institution is in the middle of downtown and from what I saw it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about being in Leavenworth.

Everyone I know that has worked there hated it. We have several staff that transferred from there. The place sounds like a nightmare.
