Re: Transfer Of Staff

My husband lateraled on March 17th of one year and then promoted on March 17th of the next year (which was a pd. move) and then promoted within the complex the next year....they don't look down on it at all, they love it when people move around and if you were to ask people on this board, most have never just worked at one Institution.

One of my managers is telling me that the Bureau would see my transfer "in a bad light" because I only put in one year at my current location. She is telling me that I should do three or more years where I am before I consider moving. The location I am relocating to, I plan to stay at, unless it's a total HELLHOLE.

The transfer would be a "Lateral" as I'm currently a GS10 in Medical. What do you all think? Should I stick it out where I am or should I move? What are the pluses and minuses to moving? I'm just looking for other's expiriences and opinions, I will make and live by my own choices.

Thank you for your help.

The Free Clinic (Carswell) will take you.

We need R.N.'s real bad.

We don't care if you have one year in the BOP, are 85 years old, or are missing toes and fingers or teeth.

Come to lovely Fort Worth, Texas, (next to the big "D") and see the sights...

(Shhh, don't tell BikerRN that we have female inmates here until after the transfer)

The person who would make the decision to hire you or not, is almost certainly a "seagull administrator". (Flies in, hovers overhead making a lot of irritating noise, ****s all over everything, then flies out.)

Bureau decision makers are mostly people to whom "home equity" is an alien concept. Their favorite employees are those they see as kindred souls: the homeless, bouncing from job to job every 12-18 months.

Go for it. Tell them your fondest dream is to be HSA, then work in the Central Office.

Yeah, that just might work. When I say it, I'll mean it. That doesn't mean I can't change my mind after I relocate.

lmfao..just like when you talk about the creek or stream, they say crick....I then give'em my funny look and they point and say over past the hollar there's a crick, ain't you seen it when you drive by... at that point I asked if there was a book on translation for the language around here. They all smile and say "No Sir" very polite and all. ( oh yeah they do have their teeth, but I start laughing cause I can picture all of'em with out there teeth.)

Just to funny... that may not be your meaning Biker... but it sure is funny!!

I don't see what the problem is with the commo Yank. I understand what they are saying just fine.

Re: Transfer Of Staff

some commonly used words and phrases used in TN. (and translation)

"O-ve'r" Over there

"Over yonder" Same as over there but implies greater distance.

"Y'all" used when speaking to more than one person

"I recon" I suppose so

"Naw" No

"**** naw" Stronger version of No

"****-Fire" Wow, that is interesting

"Holler" Area of lower elevation. aslo used to indicate leaving a gathering "Holler at y'all"

I could go on but I wont.
