AZDOC- Tucson Complex Riots

Second time in a week that Tucson complex has gone off. Big beef between the Mexican Americans and the Mexican Nationals. Guess the truce is off? At least in Arizona?

20 inmates injured in Tucson prison brawl
Quote:
Twenty inmates were injured Friday in the second brawl this week in a Tucson prison.

At approximately 6 p.m. Friday, inmates at the Arizona State Prison Complex Tucson Santa Rita Tent Unit started a fight with weapons that ended up injuring 20 inmates, according to a press release by Department of Corrections spokesman Bill Lamoreax.

Two inmates had been taken off site for medical treatment, while the rest were treated on-site.

Prison personnel stopped the fight and started an investigation, according to the press release.

The fight, like the previous fight, was between Mexican-American and Mexican national inmates. In the first fight, which happened on Tuesday, nine prison officers and three inmates were hospitalized.

Dozens of inmates were involved in the Tuesday brawl.

The Tucson complex will be locked down until further notice. This weekend all visitation throughout the complex has been cancelled, according to the press release.

Second riot at Wilmot prison, 50 inmates injured - KVOA News 4, Tucson, Arizona -

<<Back

Second riot at Wilmot prison, 50 inmates injured

An investigation is underway at the Wilmot prison where a second riot broke out today involving as many as 100 prisoners, and injuring as many as 50 inmates according to Tucson Fire. The first riot happened early this week.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. tonight, inmates at ASPC-Tucson Santa Rita Tent Unit started to fight. The fight was reportedly between Mexican American and Mexican National inmates. The long-standing fued is between immigrants natively from Mexico, and those of Mexican descent who were born in the United States

Weapons were reportedly used, and 50 inmates sustained injuries. Six inmates have been transported to local hospitals; four of those were taken to University Medical Center and are said to be in critical condition.

The rest are being treated on site, and are at triage at the prison. The Tucson Fire Department is helping with this because of the sheer volume of injuries.

Officials say there could be more prisoners transferred to local hospitals.

The Tucson complex will be locked down until further notice. All weekend visitation has been cancelled. All staff are accounted for and no injuries were reported at this time.

Earlier in the week, the prison was placed on lockdown when the first riot broke out. This one in the dining all of the prison's Rincon Unit.

In that melee, officials say nine corrections officers were injured, and that dozens of inmates were involved in that fight.

Re: AZDOC- Tucson Complex Riots

They sure don't! They even ran out a couple of white inmates that I've known at other institutions! These we not the kind of inmates that easily back down either! Pen guys! But instead SIS locked them up and shipped them somewhere else. Paisas can be pretty ruthless and our population is full of them!

Re: AZDOC- Tucson Complex Riots

Honestly. I'm just waiting for the next one to pop up. There were rumors that something was gonna go down at Central Unit in Florence. They found the intended weapon, but once again, that's just one shank.

Gonna be a fun summer!

Stay safe boys and girls.
