Deputy arrested for allegedly smuggling contraband into the prison

NEW ROADS, La. (AP) - A Pointe Coupee Parish deputy has been arrested for allegedly smuggling drugs into the parish prison.

Sheriff Paul Raymond Smith says the accused deputy is Clayton Beauvois.

Smith says Beauvois has worked for the sheriff's office for some time.

Beauvois is accused of bringing cell phones into the prison, along with various drugs.

Smith says 1 of the drugs he's accused of bringing in is crack cocaine, which was being sold to inmates.

Deputies searched Beauvois yesterday when he arrived for work.

They say they found a small amount of cocaine on him.

They also say a stolen gun was found in his pickup, allegedly stolen from a gun shop in Morganza.

I figured it out, The reason why scum bags are brining in cotraband is that we are all under paid????
No really, we need to weed this people out at the screening process, these animals are giving us all a bad name.

Even if someone passes the screening process it doesn't mean they won't bring contraband in. This makes me sick!! If you can't handle the job then leave. If you are affraid or intimated then go somewhere else! Your right, Tommyguns, it gives us who take pride in our job a bad name!
