25 Years Ago Today- Indiana Reformatory
February 1, 1985 -
Seven officers were stabbed and three held hostage for over 16 hours at the Indiana Reformatory in Pendleton, IN. All the officers survived but many are living or lived with the scars from this riot forever. Officers Stabbed: Unit Mgr Ed Broyles Capt. Chuck Widener Ofc. Melling Ofc, Richardson Sgt. Bill Sheets Officers Held Hostage Counselor Jack Weist Ofc. Carl Ingalls If anyone remembers this riot, please provide the names of the staff members I have forgotten, Folks need to remember that these types of situations can develop quickly and many times without warning. Be safe. |
