Yeah, DOJ's OIG has really helped us get attention. Now even more people interested in prisons will rush to the site only to see what kinds of arrogant dumbasses are running the federal prison system. Maybe the Public won't care for all of the rot. There is a President in the White House who campaigned on a platform of "Change." Well Barrack Hussein, the DOJ/BOP is your baby and no one else's.

I have been accused of being a naive optimist before, but I am hoping that a lot of the people who came here to look will leave with a different - and better - opinion of the PEOPLE that work in prisons, not the stereotype. Of course, since all the other members of my family ARE in law enforcement (in prison systems or other law enforcement), I may be biased.

Ok, I get the charge for lying to the investigators. But I am pretty sure that the Sedition Act of 1918 was repealed by Congress in 1920, and that the case of Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U.S. 444 (1969), made similar legislation unlikely to ever be found Constitutional. Maybe Mr. Holenick needs to remember 42 U.S.C. § 1983, and take this back at those that are going after him for anything other than being less than honest with the investigators. Just some things to keep in mind.

The lying to investigators charge is the only one with any real punitive substance; it's a felony...so I'm sure those other charges are the least of his worries considering that they are misdemeanors. In the context of the investigation, this isn't about civil liberties...as with Brandenburg...meaning, he isn't being prosecuted for giving an "opinion" that the BOP disagrees with or using inflamatory speech which may incite public disgust. He is being prosecuted for allegedly divulging information that would jeopardize an ongoing investigation. With that being said..the charges are still a load of crap, in my opinion, and this is a friggin' witch hunt (insert First Ammendment Right here).

It is a witch hunt and we all know it! He is a good Warden! The BOP frowns on good Wardens! They do not want Wardens who back their staff, they want Wardens who stab their staff in the backs! (Well said! If I do say so myself! LOL)

In the newest batch of exec moves, I see that an AW from Milan has been selected as warden of Victorville Medium I (Holencik's job).

Jarhead,
How can it not be about civil liberties, and still be about the First Amendment? You can not have it both ways! The First Amendment is a Civil Liberty defined by the Continental Congress as some of those rights that the Federal Government could not take away from you through their actions. The only things he relieved were general statements that could have come from any employee there from the water-cooler talk. I totally agree that this has become a witch hunt. And the only thing they can get him on is the same thing that they got Martha Stewart on, because other than that there really was not crime committed.
