Dry cell

At the juvenile center they use to roll their poop into little balls and right under the door. One guy picked the "dookie ball" up and said "what is this an M&M with the shell off". As the kid laughed at the window I informed him of the true nature of the brown ball. I thought he was going to lose it. It still cracks me up.

Thank god it was the plain M & M. A peanut would have made me pee my pants laughing.

Oh- and EEEWWW about the ones who eat it! My sargeant was telling me about that too.... AND I don't think the LT would be caught dead anywhere around poop, much less digging in it for a dry cell...

Well, I too had to do my first "dry cell" so to speak.

I have an adventurous young child (4 yo boy if you couldnt guess already) that decided to put a metal ball in his mouth and roll it around (from the mousetrap game for those of you with children). The ball was slightly larger than a regular marble but smaller than a big one.

So, of course, off to the ER to have him checked. He says during the exam by the Dr "I swallowed a yellow marble but it wasn't from the hungry hungry hippo game." I siad, "You swallowed a marble from the hungry hippo game?"
Him: "NOOOOO I said it WASN'T from the hungry hungry hippo game." I then started laughing. You see this was our second trip to the ER for this child in that particular weekend and I kept picturing all of his missing toys in his tummy.

So, doctor's orders are to check the poop until it passes. Monday being Labor Day I was home and it was my job. I got a bedpan from the hospital and when he did the deed dumped it in to a giant ziploc bag and squished. Nothing. It was disgusting and the whole house still stank but it's what we do for our children.

Tuesday hubby stays home with said child and examines more poop. Still nothing. Call the dr and he sends us for an X-ray. Get the X-ray, the ball is near his bellybutton. Get a printout of the X-ray which is now hanging in said child's bedroom (he wanted to hang it in the foyer under our family picture but we vetoed that).

Wednesday hubby stays home again. Kid poops again, and I guess before hubby could examine it, kid needs to poop again and out pops a little metal ball all by its lonesome. And yes, covered in poop.

And YES, all of my stories are real. Names not posted to protect the guilty!

I had a similar experience except mine wanted to swallow pennies. I did no digging though. I knew it would come out eventually since I did it as a child too.

Well, I think he had swallowed pennies before too, but told me WELL after the fact. I was more worried about what the ball was made of "Made in China" than whether it would pass.
