Angry pat downs

I have a female officer that has worked at my facility for a little over 6 months. This officer still has not learned anything about pat searches let alone anything else. I have told her repeatedly not to sent I/M's she just searched past I/M's that have not been searched.

Also not to let I/M's behind her when she is going to be searching a group of I/M's. Just the other day I seen her actually walk around an I/M in order to search his front pockets.

Not sure how to get this one trained. I guess one good smack up side her head by an I/M should do the trick.

For goodness sake rookies listen and do what your told to do by the officer that have a few years under their belt. Ya never know we may just know a thing or two.

it annoys me as well when some sergeants do pat searches where they just touch the shoulders and down the middle of the back.

Makes me feel unsafe. Being the new guy makes it hard as hell to say something.

Don't even get me started on the tower guy that sits on his ass while I am running in yard with 50 I/M's and only me out there. Get your fat ass out on the catwalk and hold that shotgun.

Shotgun? No rifles anymore? When I worked for DOC towers were armed with Ruger Mini-Fourteens.

They took the 14's out of the towers. Not going to lie.. would much rather have a rifle guarding me than a 12 gauge slug hehe

They are still here, just in the 1 Tower armory.

LOL

Pretty stupid to take them out. 20 rounds is much better than 5 when someone has thugs crawling all over them.

Yeah but it usually only takes one thugs head expoding for everyone else to remember there are armed officers up in those towers.

Re: pat downs

In NYS we have the AR-15 rifle.

But I cannot understand why they wil only authorize us to fill a 15-round clip with just 5 motivated rounds??? Anyone fill me in?? They give us plenty of Ammo, but policy states that only 5 rounds will be loaded at a time. Hmmmm......
