There are 5 buildings total. This is an older photo and you can't see the Receiving Depot which sits about 9:00 o'clock on the photo. On the road in you see the Guardshack, out back is the Landscape building and off the photo at around 4:00 o'clock is the Training Center. The sections you see are ranges which house the holdovers on the 3rd and 5th floors. The center core ties them all together and unless you are a Unit Officer you respond where ever the call comes from. In the core are 5 elevators. LDM we normally run from 1300 to 1700.

Almost all of the trees on the compound at Fairton have been cut down. That picture must be about 5 to 10 years old.
With the budget cuts though it doesn't look as good as it used to. There aren't enough staff on the compound to keep the inmates off of the grass. The compound officers are to busy manning the center gate to keep them off of the gate or clear the compound after a move. 10 minutes after the move ends you have inmates comming to the door of the unit because they have been hugging on each other in the center of the compound. Hugging, kissing and bumping fist with each other for a half an hour. |
