9 inmates hospitalized after 3 prison fights in Oklahoma

Authorities are investigating fights at three Oklahoma prisons since Saturday that left nine inmates hospitalized with stab wounds and each prison on lockdown.

Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says no staff members were injured and all the inmates are expected to survive.

Fights at two prisons broke out on Monday.

Four inmates were stabbed in two separate fights at the **** Conner Correctional Center. The first was about 1 p.m. inside a housing unit and one inmate was sent to the hospital.

Then three other inmates were stabbed shortly before 6 p.m. during a fight in a different housing unit.

Also Monday four inmates were stabbed at the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite after a fight broke out about 3 p.m. in a prison yard. Nine other injured inmates were treated at the facility.

And one inmate was stabbed Saturday at the Mack Alford Correctional Center in Stringtown.

I work at **** Conner, and yes we too are still in lockdown. Because of this we shipped out approximately 16 inmates who were either involved, or suspected of being involved.

And Yes I still LAove my job, despite all that happened lately

Only someone in corrections would even begin to understand the passion for the job.

there was no staff injured. that is always great news. Once I was paged to come in, my main concern was about the staff first and always.

We had stabbing at Cimmaron! Still some unrest....We are coming up graduated lockdown....They have a seperate unit for the shot callers...they have put them all on one pod....Had one got the daylights knocked out of him....He was in ICU at the City... I still love my Vocation!

we still have one of the 4 still in the hospital, he is now in the icu unit. he came back around august and within a month his cellie tried to choke him out, so he went back with a crushed throat. haven't heard anything lately.
