Death-row inmate loses appeal of conviction, death sentence

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A death row inmate who was convicted of killing an advertising executive in 2001 has lost his latest appeal.

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals on Friday rejected James Pavatt's application for post-conviction relief.

An Oklahoma County jury found Pavatt guilty of killing Robert Andrew at his Oklahoma City home as part of a conspiracy with Andrew's wife, Brenda.

Prosecutors say Pavatt, a former insurance salesman, murdered Robert Andrew so he and Brenda Andrew could claim $800,000 in life insurance benefits.

Pavatt also was convicted of conspiring with Brenda Andrew to kill her husband. He received a 10-year prison term and was $5,000 on that charge.

Brenda Andrew also was convicted of murder and sentenced to death.

I agree. And some of them actually would prefer to get it over with, but they MUST get their appeals. I say, if the evidence proves them guilty and the person admits guilt, get it over with.

Stick it to em! i think that people with death sentences should be executed the same way they comitted the crime...shot in the back...chopped up into pieces...raped and strangled...whatever it takes. good luck finding someone to rape the rapers though.

like we couldn't find someone on death row and grant him/her one last pleasure??

There's a thought, death row inmates executing death row inmates. Only problem is eventually there can only be one....MY GOD IT'S THE HIGHLANDER!!!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I say 2 game shows. The first is where the inmates kill each other, either Gladiator style or gloified's way (which I think is best). The second is just for CO's and PO's to be the one who gets to kill the last guy, and the winning CO/PO gets to pick the method.
