USP Pollock
During E/W on April 14, 2008 correctional officer Carey Albert was stabbed two times in the neck by an inmate that forwarned staff that he was going to "F" up a C/O that night.
Officer Albert is doing well. The inmate missed vital parts of his neck by about .25 of an inch. Obviously, he was trying to kill him. The institution is on its second day of a lockdown. Quite frankly, the way admin. is here, we are suprised the lockdown has lasted this long. Just thought I would let ya'll know so you can keep Albert, and all C/O's, in your thoughts and prayers. |

Re: USP Pollock
The inmate told the activities LT this during mainline. He put him in the holding tank outside the LT's office and made rounds. While he was making rounds, the operations Lt let him out of the tank. OOOOHHHH, how good is our communication?

Re: USP Pollock
The inmate was green, with purple eyes from the planet Zaltar. He was doing fed time because he accidentially teleported into the oval office and the duracell batteries he bought for the teleporter went dead, so he wasnt able to escape.
The real details: He was a black inmate with unknown affiliation at this time. He acted on behalf of himself. He was trying to get a restriction lifted so he could use the phone. He told them at mainline that he was going to "f" up an officer if it wasnt fixed. Operations told him that she would try to do what she could, then kicked him back out to the yard. This is when he returned to his housing unit. He and officer Albert were in his cell, Albert was checking his property because of his indigent status. Albert told me they was just having a general conversation. He said there was no tension between them or anything of the sort. He said the inmate popped up with an ice pick type weapon and stuck him in the side of the neck, stunning him for a second. He noticed the weapon in his hand and the inmate struck him a second time. This time, Albert spun out of the attack and ran into the common area and hitting his BA. |

Re: USP Pollock
I am sorry and feel for this officer. The black and the white of the current situation is this. We all know it is not a matter of if it is going to happen. It is a matter of WHEN and to WHOM. Our situation is becoming more and more dangerous every time we walk through the gates of the institution. Between the Bureau of Prisons and its gross mismanagement, and the Congress not Budgetting the Bureau properly, it is simply an Inevitable event. Someone is going to die. A staff member IS GOING TO DIE. I will keep this staff member in my prayers, I will also pray for each of you who are walking through the gates tonight, tomorrow, and until such time as SOMEONE can convince them of the situation that they HAVE now created inside these prisons is dangerous. At first I believed the first time a staff member we seriously injured this would change. I now know that there is not going to be a significant change until after a staff member is killed. I hope Harley Lapin reads this post and knows that even though the Justice Department and President are not keeping him and his management style in check. I am going to. I do not know how, or what this one small person will do. I WILL DO SOMETHING. There is an officer going to die, we have all pretty much resolved ourself to this. We are just playing russian rulette and hoping that it is not us. When that happens, I am going to have my voice heard. I dont know how, but I will yell to WHOEVER will listen. Be assured it is not that I am not yelling now, I AM, just that I have not figured out how to be heard yet.
We must start Yelling and Telling to anyone who will listen. We must start doing this soon. Most importantly, we MUST START DOING THIS TOGETHER !!!
