Generation Kill - Real life organizational problems

What did you all think of the HBO mini series Generation Kill. As as Marine that served in the first gulf war, I thought it was great. I really liked the way they looked at the communication between line level guys and command. It shows that there is a lot of room for misscommunication and lack of clarity. How many times have you been asked to do something and not have a clue as to way you are doing it. Over couple the last years I have been doing team development for command level folks and each time I have taken back by the lack of clarity they have in what they are doing and way they are doing. You can not run a department, jail orprison, if you do not know way you are doing it or have clartiy on how to do it.
