Does NC DOC allow facial hair?

hey guys i just had another question pop into my head. does NC DOC allow facial hair? i have a goatee and i do keep it short and trimmed up. i want to look sharp for my interview.

NCDOC is not the military, its a pseudoparamilitary (is that even a word? Well, it is now!). Yes, they allow facial hair for men (I think women is where they draw the line). Women pretty much seem to wear whatever they want for hairstyles. As a male C/O, I get a close, crew-oriented type cut, with a little bit of hair grease (for dryness and grab-resistance). Why?

Don't think an inmate is above grabbing you by the hair. And to my understanding male C/Os are more of a threat to male inmates because most inmates think women aren't going to do anything to them at my institution (or at least in the areas I work).

Goatees may be no more than 1/2 in. in length and should be neatly trimmed and groomed.

Thats what I've come across too. Trimmed and shaved and no longer than half and inch. No wild styles either.
