How strick is NC DOC on the Physical?

Hey guys as some of you guys know i am applying to be a CO. I am a little nervous about the physical.

I have a heart condition, its a small hole inside my heart. I have never been restricted from any physical activities, except going into the military.

I work out and i am in pretty good condition, a hell of alot better than most deputy sheriffs in my area (no offense). I wrestled in high school, played soccer, played baseball and basketball growing up. My heart condition doesn't affect me at all. according to my long time cardiologist, it doesn't need to be replaired and my blood pressure #'s are awesome.

what do you guys think?

Not much physically is placed on the standard job of a Correctional Officer (if you asked me). Its not as tough as the Detention Officer, for Sheriff Departments.
Now if you are asking about PERT or SORT, please defer to someone else, I have no knowledge of their tests, you might want to ask Sort2000.

It's not strict at all, there are some people I'm suprised are working for DOC.

I wonder why the doctor I saw was such a douch, true I wouldnt make it through the military on it, but last year that doc sent me to the psych test, they opened my paperwork said I couldnt take it becasue he wrote I couldnt do a job that required standing, even though I've been unloading trucks for a few years now, he could have at least told me he failed me, instead of me using all that gas for nothing what a jerk, because of him alexander withdrew my employment.
