Yup, I'm at Fairton. I'm on military leave right now, but hit me up with any questions that you might have. daryll.slimmer@us.army.mil

I know Slappy on here is at Fairton also.

Re: Fort Dix/ fairton

I start monday at fort dix, i was a seasonal police officer for 4 years before comming to the BOP. I would appreciate any advice you could give. Also, wondering what the off-dutty carry policy is for BOP in NJ once I get back from Glynco?

Re: Fort Dix/ fairton

LEOSA applies to you as long as your firearms qualification is current. But, the BOP will not allow you to store your firearm in your vehicle nor will it store it for you. So, find your own storage off prison grounds or travel to and from work unarmed. Or, risk disciplinary action if you get caught.

Ft Dix is a horrible place to work. You will soon find out for yourself! Alot of good officers but the admin is terrible. I speak from being there. I wont get into anymore then I have.

Also be ready to work alot of doubles. People bang out all the time. You will be mandated at least 2-3 times per pay period. Morale is not to great either. Like I said earlier you will soon find out. Good luck to you all who will be working there.
