New warden appointed to head Willow River/Moose Lake correctional facility
Corrections Commissioner Joan Fabian announced the selection of Becky Dooley as warden of the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF)-Willow River/Moose Lake.

Corrections Commissioner Joan Fabian announced the selection of Becky Dooley as warden of the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF)-Willow River/Moose Lake.

Dooley began her corrections career in 1991 as a recreation therapist at Willow River/Moose Lake. She also served as the facility's recreation coordinator and affirmative action officer.

Dooley has worked closely with the Challenge Incarceration Program (CIP), a boot camp located on the Willow River site. She started as a corrections supervisor for CIP in 2003 and went on to become program director. In 2006, Dooley was named corrections alternative program manager for CIP. She has served as associate warden of operations for the MCF-Willow River/Moose Lake since December 2007.

Dooley, raised in Wheatland, North Dakota, holds a bachelor's degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.

"I am happy to welcome Becky to our warden team. Through her many years of demonstrated leadership at Willow River/Moose Lake, she has proven herself well qualified to take on the challenges of being a Minnesota warden," said Commissioner Fabian.

Dooley's appointment is effective January 5, 2010. She succeeds Dan Hilleren who is retiring after 35 years with the department.

The MCF-Willow River/Moose Lake has two sites. Moose Lake is a level 3, medium-custody facility for adult males committed to the commissioner of corrections. Its current population is 1,027. The Willow River site serves as phase 1 for male offenders in CIP, with a current population of 142.
