For those who do not work in our field I'm glad you don't.
For my brothers and sisters that wear the uniform. You are the best. Don't ever forget this. Just as the circus comes to town, no one wants to be the one who cleans up after the elephants. But that's what we do.
We live in a world that has walls and those walls need to be guarded by men and women. Who's gonna do it? You? You, mister liberal. We Correction Officers have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You have the luxury of not knowing what "we know." You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties you want "us on that wall, you need us on that wall." We use words like "honor, code, loyalty." We use then as the backbone of a life trying to protect society. You use them as a punch line. You develop rules and regulations only enforce them when it's convenient and to your own benefit. We neither have the time nor the inclination to explain ourselves to people who rise and sleep under the blanket of protection we provide and then questions the manner in which we provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you don a uniform and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

G, not sure if the flag is at half-staff or not, but if there are extra's, we should take it upon ourselves to lower it. Just a thought..
