How did things work out in NV? I decided to apply there. I got an email saying that I'm eligible. All I'm waiting for is a phone call now. Can you tell me what the process is like as far as interview and tests and things?

    Thanks

Hey, I was just on NV's website. What institution are you applying to? They are saying there are immediate opening at Lovelock and Ely. Are you going for one of those, or are you trying to get closer to the Vegas area?

Man, that sucks about the freeze! I was also considering Nevada and Washington. Both of those states pay very well compared to other states. The only reason I had AZ at the top of my list is because I'll be in that area in about 2 weeks. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone; vaca and application. How did they set you up in the process? It took them 30-45 days to set you up with an exam, or the entire process?

Let me know when your ready and I'll hook you up. I've also been in contact with a recruiter from AZ. She says the state budget is screwed and there is a freeze on everything there. Just a heads up. Why don't you go to Nevada? It took me about 30 to 45 days for them to set me up in the process.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. I'm going out west at the end of the month on a road trip. I'm going to apply with AZ. If I don't get the job there, I'm definitely going to look into that. It would be a big stepping stone.

    Hey Jake,
Yes...I'll be testing the 3rd week of June for DOC and NHP since it's the same PAT. Just different testing procedures. I'm with MODOC now and enjoy corrections. Time to go for the money as we're really underpaid in Missouri...lol.

I noticed you're trying to move out to Las Vegas in the nixt six months, or so. Are you trying to get a job with the DOC? I'm not a CO. I'm currently in the process with PA DOC, but I was also considering relocating to Las Vegas within 6-12 months. All of this depends how things go with PA. If I get the job, I'll probably wait a year and then relocate out there. I'm trying to gather some info on NV DOC, if I find anything out I'll fill you in... Jake
