This is a discussion on Are they hiring??? within the Maryland forums, part of the United States category; thinking about moving back that way....what is the hiring process....i talked to some people...heard it is impossible to gt hired ...

Are they hiring???
thinking about moving back that way....what is the hiring process....i talked to some people...heard it is impossible to gt hired at North Branch...heard the one by Hagerstown are easier to get into...so anyone with info let me know

is there are high rate of turnover....any palce i would want to stay away from??? we have the one CO from MD. up here so any infor would be great what ttype of weapons do you get to qualify on??? what do you get to carry on you ei: cuffs mace etc.??

Not much turnover in West cannot speak for the rest of the state. Weapons are for(Cadre team) and Tac team .38, mini 14 and 12 gauge 870. On duty most officers carry mace, cuffs and radio.

so i'm taking the initial test...what is it like???? how hard is it??? also how long till you hear anything??? what is a Cadre team????so there is fireams qual at academy?? like i said i have close to 6 yrs of correctional experience already...looking to either get hired at North branch, Western, or the 3 in Hagerstown

I took the initial test 4 weeks ago. It was easy. It consists of 3 parts
1. video-watch some short clips and answer some questions. Memory and close observation is key! 2. written-multiple guess, some reading comprehension, logic problems, simple math 3. bio-you can do this on-line ahead of time and save some time. They ask background and some basic personality questions. They tell you it will be 4-6 weeks to get the results....so any day now for me  You can lookup the training schedules as well, PM me and I'll send the link if you want it. Good Luck!!! |

Well, I got my test results....Best Qualified....WooHoo
I also received a interview notice from the Central Region, but I'm not interested in that area. I live nearest to ECI, so I'm hoping to get a notice from them soon. |

Well, bad news
 I emailed ECI and they are not even interviewing until Dec/Jan. I find it a bit odd to have us test in July and they can't even get their act together for interviews for 6 months...very frustrating!!!! |
