Re: Gunny's Laws of Reality for Correctional Officers
28. If a list is being compiled, someone will eventually skip a number.
29. If the Department/Bureau can either afford to give officers a raise, or fund a study on whether raises actually raise morale...the results of the study will be forthcoming. 30. A personal body alarm that goes off every time you sit down will not go off when you purposely press it....unless you're trying to test this rule. 31. Anyone that arrives late to work regularly, will regularly complain about not being relieved on time. 32. The Warden never visits when you are doing your job efficiently, and ahead of schedule. 33. The phone always rings, when you're on the toilet. 34. It's always the OIC. 35. If in doubt, policy says it's always the most liberal hug-a-thug option available. 36. Policy is not open to interpretation...except by the administration. 37. Insubordination is punishable, but saying yes and being 'forgetful' is a sound strategy. 38. No matter how you handle a given situation, you should have handled it differently....and better. |
