NEW Tower Training?

Just heard that they (the BOP) are sending all lead firearms instructors to classes for TOWER TRAINING. I was told it has something to do with the shooting at USP Florance. Anyone know what this "new" training is? BTW has anyone seen the After Action Review? Can't wait to see what this BS is.

It has to be CYA. The BOP preaches being proactive, but there have been more incidents to make them reactive.

Look at the incident that happened in Lewisburg back in the 80's. On a hospital escort, the inmate is coming out, he has his buds waiting, they shoot and kill one of the armed escorts, shortly after that we move to semi-auto pistols.

I say of there is a riot and staff are in danger, open up on them!

We'll find out soon enough. The BigBwanaJake is there now. But, the bastard is too tight for an Internet connection at home and Harley blocked this site at work... So I guess it will have to wait until I can get face-to-face with him.

Perhaps there's some new BOP training that instills the will to kill some of those wonderful "Offenders" when they need it.

I don't think this has anything to do with the Florence incident. This was orginated and proposed out of the South Central Region. The training is supposed to be at Phoenix in August.

I wish they would bring towers BACK to AZ DOC. At my complex alone we have TWO towers left that are manned/armed. One is set to be decomissioned...

Yeah, there goes the intimidation factor. Especially since the one that's going to be decomissioned is the one overlooking the level 5 yard that just opened up all but two cell blocks to completely free open movement (now level 3). Already have had stabbings, fights, etc..

Tower Training???? I find that odd, considering that they have pretty much eliminated the towers at the USP's, of course with the exception of the center tower...............

Maybe it's the 8...10...12...warning shots that are becoming usual. All the warning/Less lethal/noise maker crap was added years ago because inmates didn't respond to....8.....10....12...warning shots from the M-16's. Now the officers have far too many choices when under stress to respond. Drop 'em if somebody needs to be saved.

POLICY....Lethal/Serious Bodily Injury. Verbal, Warning Shot, Shoot to Stop if necessary.

Think THAT might slow some of this crap down?
