Well I wouldn't go that far. Le Eme is based solely out of California and has a only a few members in the Texas system. But in reality there are only a few hundred true Le Eme and most are in the SHU's in Cali or in the Feds ADX. A lot of Surenos claim Eme but in reality they are just street level lackeys and don't have any juice. The Texas mafia is a copy cat organization and calls themselves Le Emi. The two are not connected, but in 1984 a lifer at Huntsville was given permission to create the gang from the leaders in Cali. There is no known beef between the two, but they are not affiliated with each other either.

So to recap

California Mexican Mafia=Le Eme
Texas Mexican Mafia=Le Emi


Then there is the Arizona Mexican Mafia......

When Leavenworth was a USP, we had both EME & EMI. They tolerated each other, but they were in neutral territory and lived in seperate cell blocks. They certainly weren't allies like the California AB and the California EME are.
