So after a long drawn out battle, I lose....
I got dismissed off of original probation today, which, well, sucks. I mean, it is kind of nice because the work environment with my supervisor had reached an impasse, and one of us was going to have to go. So this may mean that my chances at the BOP are shot to hell. Who knows. I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me. If anyone is really curious abou details, pm me and I'll pm them back.

You were a Captain and you were on your original probation? That was either a super quick promotion to Captain or an extremely long probation. LOL

No, it was not for cause, or misconduct, or hugging a thug, or anything of the such.
I hired on here as a Captain, 12 month probation as a new state employee. I originally did 10 years in the AZ prison system, COI thru LT. Decided when they wanted to move me and the family to West Phoenix, (read East LA) I said "No" and went shopping and landed here. So now we will see what fate holds for me. I think the lesson learned is no matter how much of an admin type you want to be, you know, the hours, the days off, etc. that if you are a blue collar, tell it like it is, pull no punches, to hell with the politics type person, you will not survive. |

Here is a copy and paste from a pm.
That place was such a cluster, ****in' eh, it's ok. I came in, developed a count policy, mind you there was never one there, a lockdown policy, never one there, a movement policy, never one there, escape apprehension policy, never one there, a transportaion policy, never one there, passed the first audit ever, the last one they didn't even bother to submit one because they knew it would fail, and here I am. Regardless of what I would do, the AW and I could not mesh. I being the new probationary Captain lost to the 17 year entrenched this is Wyoming and the way we do it AW. Such is life. The condensed nutshell version. So much for busting your ass. |

More copy and paste.
You know Crosstimbers, after this, all I want to do is run a cell block. I don't want the heartache of admin for a while, atleast not until the last three years or whatever to boost the retirement, you know. 11 ****ing years, and whack like one of those wack a mole games. You know, the pen I just got out of, staff and inmates would call eachother by first name, I never would, and it was considered offensive. Inmates would freely come up and touch a staff member to get their attention. The first time one came up to me to do so, I wrist locked her, spun her around, and put her against a wall. People were like, oh no, you can't do that here. I had never been touched by an inmate before unless it was go time. Most everyone there looked upon these inmates as poor victims of bad relationships with males. Not the killers, baby killers, pedophiles, dope fiends, con artists, or whatever they were. Bi****inzarre. Bi****inzarre. |
