At El Reno we once had a warden authorize M/W compound officers to bring in air rifles and slaughter all the pigeons they could. That was after the bird cannons stopped scaring them off, and the owl decoys were covered with pigeon droppings.

We don't have much problem with pigeons. We have too many cats.

In our BOP training materials, the videos and some of the still pictures it shows a staff member hitting an inmate with a telephone. If we are being attacked we are told to use whatever is available to defend ourselves.

Damn straight.

At the last change in self defense training (when they eliminated the Aikido terminology), it became official Bureau policy to use anything and everything you can lay your hands on if necessary to defend yourself.

"Step back and cross-grab... " Fire extinguisher. Mop wringer. Telephone. Folding chair. Typewriter. Clothes iron.

When justified, do whatever you got to do to get your game on. Get it on: and win!
