Re: Puerto Rico
You are right. All institutions should have gun lockers. My opinion is that either it will be negotiated for and gotten that way. Or staff members that have carried for the majority of their career will have to promote up and start that change by being execs.

Re: Puerto Rico
S.pate don't get mad at Guaynabo. I used to work in Brooklyn for years and yes we used to leave the weapons in the car.Cause they were to cheap to put a few boxes outside. Anyway if we do have gunlockers is because our union down here is strong. Not because crime rate or whatever, there's crime everywhere, it happend way before I got here. It's easy, fast, accesible and out side, just push the button control opens the door and you put your weapon away. Amazing! I don't see the issue here. Your union needs to get on the agency's ass. We even have an institution supplement for gun lockers and a 24 hrs issued key. tell the union to get hot on the issue!!!!!

Re: Puerto Rico
In reference to Barat, he originally came to Coleman in the penalty box. He was the Captain at the Low,(GS-13) for about a year or so. He then got in trouble there (women) and was moved to pen 1 as the Captain. He again got in to trouble (women), had a heart attack, got in trouble again, ( homicide in SHU rec cages), and was moved to a CCM. I wish I was punished like that. Kept his 13 and was moved to a community corrections center instead of being captain at a USP. LOL

Re: Puerto Rico
I find it amazing how things can differ from institution to institution because of the union. When I was at USP Lompoc the union was strong and now here at Springfield the union is good, but not as strong. I'll have to ask my union pres. about this. His response should be interesting.
