Done. Will also talk to Congressman Mollihan from WV, since he also chairs the sub-committee on Appropriations for Science, Commerce and Judiciary.

Also Hazelton and Morgantown were in DC last week when Phil Glover testified as a Witness infront of this sub-committee.

Talking Re: H.R. 5674 Correctional Officer Safety Act of 2008

Well, just to let you guys know, Central Office is up to their games on this one. I just received an e-mail from Eric Young (SERVP). He was contacted by Congressman Meeks' office last week about this bill. The staffer told Eric that 2 people from our Central Office came in and demanded this bill be pulled from the House floor. The staffer for Congressman Meeks said that these 2 individuals were very rude and hateful. They also made the comment "The union doesn't need to be involved in this decision". Sounds like B.S. to me. I love it when we try to tie their hands. Florida just brought new life to this bill as well. Last week they passed a law that allows you to carry to and from work as a private citizen. I will forward this to Kevin so he can cut and paste the email that Eric sent me. I still am computer challenged when it comes to that type of stuff. Keep calling your Representatives. We need more co-sponsors on this bill.

Go to the AFGE website and go to Legislative/Politics tab.

It will help you look up all you elected officials by your zip code.

Type in the first on and then cut and paste your message to all the others.

It took me about 5 minutes to do all mine.

You should ask who the 2 staffers were by name.
