These clowns are not researching the law, they are just going through the motions.

I hear that at work all the time...

Did you see where that CO was busted for soliciting sex and carrying a concealed weapon? It was thrown out because (according to the paper) recieving oral sex was not in the definition of soliciting prostitution. They also dropped the Concealed charge however, they didnt state why. Pitty... maybe we could have seen LEOSA challenged in a real court.

Just go and get your CCW and be done with it. If you're able to get on with the DOC then you "should" be qualified for the permit. Its worth a shot, and then all doubt about carrying is out the window.

That isn't really the kind of case you want to use to get good caselaw. There is too much there that wouldn't have to do with LEOSA and could muddy the issue.

That's great for carrying in NC and states that honor NC permits. But that's not very many places.

Yes, but its more than you would think. There's no need to have to carry into a bank, post office, courthouse, bars. But to each their own.

I carry into the bank every time I go. There may be a need for it some day. Those other places are illegal to carry into in virtually everywhere, LEOSA or not.

Here are those places that honor NC permits. http://www.handgunlaw.us/maps/north_carolina_map.gif

You're right, we don't have any bank robbers in prison. Foolish me, I'll just go unload my weapon, put a trigger lock on it, place it in a safe, and put the ammo in a separate safe.

Did I say all that ?? No. I carry everywhere I go except for the places prohibited by law. If you feel the need to go into the bank packing by all means go ahead, but I'd prefer to hold onto my permit.
