Inmates will get playing cards with cold case info.  - January 16, 2010 12:34 PM ET LEXINGTON, KY. (AP) - Kentucky inmates will get playing cards that have information about cold-case homicides on them in the hopes that the cards will help solve the crimes. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Lexington police, Bluegrass Crime Stoppers and the Kentucky Department of Corrections announced Friday they have received a grant to produce the cards.  Kentucky Cold Case Homicide playing cards feature a photo and description of 52 cold cases in Kentucky and will be distributed in 18 prisons and numerous jails around the state. Kentucky is the 10th state to produce the cold case playing cards for inmates. The idea came from the Pentagon's use of playing cards in 2003 during the search for Saddam Hussein's inner circle.
