Some may hate me for posting this. But we must all face reality...

CCA is starting entry-level COs at about $1000 less than I make as a GS-8 Step 8 with 16 years in the BOP.

A Federal Detention Center in Pahrump, Nevada

As a long-time partner of the federal government, CCA has been selected by the Department of Justice, Office of Federal Detention Trustee (OFDT), to construct a new detention center, to be located at 2250 E. Mesquite Avenue in Pahrump, Nye County, Nevada.

The 1,072-bed, $80 million facility will be owned and operated by CCA on behalf of the United States Marshals Service. Construction is scheduled to begin in Fall 2008, with a planned opening during the fourth quarter of 2009.

Had my fill of C.ant C.ontain A.nybody back in the 90's! When I was making $16,500 a year!!! No overtime, no union (Supervisors trated you like crap) Inmates were buck wild! I could go on..........

The Bop used to be the high pay in corrections. Many states and counties are catching up and in some cases paying better. Whats wrong with this picture?
