Hello to all. It's pretty nice to know there are others out there to talk to. I'm Danny I've been in corrections for six years now at the Ferguson Unit T.D.C.J. Hope to learn from everyone.

Prepare for culture shock. A Texas prison is the cleanest and most orderly place I have ever been. I had a friend that went from Oklahoma DOC to TDCJ. I used to make occassional road trips to tour his institution. It was always a pleasure.

Re: Saying hello from texas

I was going to try for Institutional Parole Officer, but according to Texas DOC website not one postion open in that area. How do they hire from other states for CO's that have experince, I have been with DOC eight years. Do we have to start at the bottom again??
Probley so huh. I would be takeing a cut in pay. I do not know if I can do that and be able to live. I might have to go try for district parole officers. Which I really was not interested in but might not have a choice. I am trying to get somewhere outside of the FW area. close enough to see the sites of FW but not actually living in the city.
