New From Texas

Hi All.

I found this web site thru TDCJ Unofficial Website. I've been reading the post for about a month now and decided to join.

My husband works for a Texas prison. He's been there 14 years now. I'm looking for a place to ask questions, share frustrations, and maybe share some humor from his job and my own.

Disclaimer: I use humor alot and hopefully none of you are humorless.

I'm looking forward to talking to everyone here.

Thanking you in advance for any warm welcome I receive.

Are you kidding? We're CO's for gods sake. We NEED a sense of humor otherwise we'd be just like LEO's

Welcome aboard.

Re: New From Texas

Oops, I forgot. CO's have the same warped sense of humor as Law Enforcement and EMS people. Couldn't survive without it and hell, there's lots to laugh about when you're talking about the prison system.

I believe all the higher ups are graduates of the Carlos Mancia De De De school of knowledge.

But that would just be my take on things.

I've been reading thru the posts here. Seems like all the prisons suffer from the same problems. Little pay, shortage of manpower, dirty/lazy CO's, you name it.

But, according to the Powers that Be here in Texas there is no shortage of manpower because everyone is working overtime to cover the shifts. Excuse me, but did I miss something here? Did they sleep thru the course in logical thinking? People are working OT because there is a shortage of manpower - DUH!!!! Nothing like working 16 hours straight or 10+ days straight to keep a CO fresh and on his/her toes!!!

OK, you got me started. Shame on you.

Just figured I'd share the joy

I'm on my mod right now. Thugs are tucked in their bunks and I'm inbetween my walks. Gotta have something to do to pass the time. Might as well see who I can get riled up

Do you personally tuck all those thugs in? Must keep ya busy making sure they have their night light, drink of water, covers all tucked in tight, and oh, listening to their prayers!!!

Glad I only have to worry about the bleeding, belligerent drunks on the road or the idiots who like to lose things in body cavities. Wait, we share the same job on that last one.
