Re: New From Texas
Hi Custodian and Shakedown,
Thanks for the greeting. A little background information. My husband has been a CO for 14 years. He was also in law enforcement for 20 years before that. He now has a to die for job with TDCJ - Porperty Officer. He works M-F 6a-3p, with visitation every 5 weeks. Not bad. I'm the Asst. Program Director/Instructor for an EMS program at a local Community College. Before that I spent 20 years in the back of an ambulance. I've also taught the medical portion for the Law Enforcement Program to all Students wanting to be a cop, deputy or whatever. We have a daughter that turned 15 yesteday. We are in the process of putting razor wire around our property with Towers on all four corners. We're now looking for CO's who would like a part-time job manning the towers. Anyone who is interested please send resume to me at this web site. Now, I warned ya that I use humor alot -so those that are easily offended need not read my post! Question for all you fine CO's. What do you call your inmates/prisoners? In Texas they're called offenders. Not allowed to use the "I" or "P" word because it offends their sensibilites. I know, I know, "A rose by any other name...." I just find it ridiculous that we or you have to worry about offending the offender. Am I the only one that sees how silly this is? Stay safe. Don't want to read about another CO being injured or killed. |

Re: New From Texas
In the feds we call them inmates--officially. Affectionately, they are known as Thugs and Thuggettes.
