Funny, you're the first person to ask me that one, so heck why not? I do plan to stay with the Department of Correction for some time, maybe move into probation and parole after I finish my degree. Beyond that, a huge part of me wants me to get a law degree and be a prosecutor for the state or general counsel for the Department of Correction. I'm still unsure though, I still have time, I still need my Bachelors degree. Who knows what will happen? By the by, 18-24 months until certification? North Carolina requires certification before your 12 months on the job is completed.

Well, glad I asked! Yeah, I will be there for a while too. I want to do patrol for little while. I really want to do federal work one day! Thats my primary goal [hope really]. But I know a woman who works at Alto State Prison and so I may be interested in that in a few years. Who knows... theres tons of options for L.E.!
Yeah, Im not sure about whole academy thing - just know thats what I have heard. I will have to find out more and let you know.
Until next time - keep your head up and eyes open!
