Welcome, and as others have mentioned...how do you do it? 23 years in a Maximum Security Penitentiary...but I would never work with juvies...

Hello there! Thank you for the warm welcome! You know, the actual job is not that tough. The tough part is dealing with a "New day, new way" theme. That is the most difficcult thing to adjust to. Not being able to hold kids accountable, confusion amongst administrators and middle management, etc. If it was consistant across the board, it would not be so hard. But when you have too many chiefs and not enough indians, that is what makes it difficult.

As I said, it is harder dealing with Administration. The kids are kids, inside the instution and out. They act out, but for the most part will comply when you show consistancy. However, it is easier to work with adults, though ... not to mention the laws are different.

Ha ha.... I get that all the time. We have a lot of gang activity out here, and it is getting worse and worse day, by day. It is really sad. But for the most part, it is okay.
