Thumbs up correctional officer
Hey all, its the FNG! Got hired with the state of NC back in May of this year. I work at a medium facility that houses about 800 inmates. Its no where near as bad as I expectd, especially being that I havent been to the academy yet. Im scheduled to start mid November, so any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

If you find yourself talking to an inmate for more then 30 seconds.. move along. Good chance he/she is trying to distract you.

Jcoffin you know better than that.Don't even give them 30 seconds ask them to walk with you, they will usually turn around and leave. Inmates can do a lot with 30 seconds.
