1. Faux pas is an accepted English term. Look it up in the dictionary.
2. Even in America we have manners. Just because you can do something does not mean you should.

Excuse me if I wanted people in Idaho and people in Oklahoma to read this article. What are you going to do? Give somebody the death penalty for saying something twice?

People in both places could very easily read it in either sub-forum. The regional sub-forums can be viewed by everyone. Perhaps, as the article applied to more than one region, it could have been posted in one of the general forums dealing with correctional issues.

The death penalty is a little melodramatic, don't you think? If I were a moderator or administrator I would have locked one of the two of your threads, informed you of your faux pas, and asked you not to do it again. As I am not, I will just be mostly happy with what I have done.

I have clearly offended you, which was not my intention. Please accept my apology.

Thank God you're not the administrator or moderator because you would have some stupid rules. But, I do accept your apology. Thanks.

It isn't a stupid rule. It assists greatly with housekeeping and helps create more centralised discussions on specific topics.

Of course you say it isn't a stupid rule because it's your own rule that you made up.

It is not my rule and I certainly did not make it up. It is a rule which has been enforced on many forums that I have been a member of over the years.

I have been a member of forums over the years and have never heard of this rule or seen it enforced.
