Former deputy pleads guilty in drug case

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- A former Pasco County jail deputy has pleaded guilty to possession of an anabolic steroid with intent to distribute. Rodney Philon hesitated in court Wednesday before entering his plea. The 38-year-old Philon faces a maximum five years in prison. A sentencing date has not been set. Philon was arrested in March along with three other people. Authorities say he sold an informant 10 pink Dianabol tables on March 15 in a Publix parking. Philon was later arrested by his own agency after a six-hour standoff at his home with fellow deputies. |
