Can medication be disqualifying ??

I received a letter requesting more info about the medication that I take. I went to my family doctor this morning and got him to sign off on the form that I was fine, now just waiting to hear from the Department Psychologist to schedule an appointment with him. I've been taking Effexor for the last 4 years. I take a very minimal dosage for anxiety. Is this terms for disqualification ?? It says on the Department website that they do not hire individuals with a chemical dependency.

Please help if you can. Thanks

if they disqualify you for taking effexor they will have to fire half their staff, half the population of this country is on some sort of antidepressant nowadays

Bud lite is my main meds, but when I take too much I lose track of time...hmmm....could be an alien abduction (or black outs!)?

Is that stuff any good? I've been on Celexa 40mg for years now. Seems in the last year or so, I'm having more down days. Been thinking 'bout Lexapro or Effexor. Comments?

The chemical dependency part is just a nice way of the department saying they don't hire crackheads.

Well I talked to the psych guy and he was friendly. He did say however that he saw some "inconsistencies" in my test results and asked why and of course I was like WTF, I answered everything truthfully. (I said that in my head of course). Anyways, I told him about my medication and he didnt seem too concerned. I should be getting a letter any day now I hope to tell me one way or the other.
