This is true, we do have the Male staff that wear stuff they shouldnt. I am still wondering how administrators make it up the compound wearing khaki pants with matching tops, and nobody stops them telling that it is not allowed, yet they stop me because I am wearing a hooded sweatshirt in the middle of the winter to tell me that it is not authorized. Or when a LT asked one of our 8's if he was going to wear the snow mask infront of inmates saying that it wasnt fair that the inmates had to stand in the cold without face protection so staff shouldnt wear it.
Or that contract nurse that shows off his junk like he is john holmes... how appropriate that his first name matches...
If I remember correctly the name of the thread is NON UNIFORMED STAFF CLOTHING> I didnt mean to bust on all the women out there, this is an equal opportunity to vent against those idiots that wear stuff that they shoudnt.

I have seen staff in uniforms that don't fit them, big old speedbumps jutting out the caboose, buttons straining for dear life, bras you can see through the faded white shirts, the Big Old Bellies, etc.

We had a rather portly unit team member here years ago who split his pants and has to borrow a female staff's sweater (or jacket) to cover it up.

Too funny.

And yes, KB, I will look at packages when they are presented for my viewing pleasure/disgust.

I'm still trying to figure out Mr. Cup.

I am going to be non uniform staff. I have been told that I will not have a uniform and I could not be happier. I plan to just wear ems pants and a polo every day no more having to do buttons and worry if they fall off during my shift... I LOVE IT!!

I am non uniformed however, for 10 years I wore one. I prefer the 5.11 pants and shirts now, sometimes a tie if required but mostly a polo. Honestly, I have only seen a few questionable wears, shirts or pants a bit snug. We mostly have a jewlery issue from time to time. The one thing that seems apparent (with a few) is the hamper look here, nothing more un-professional than a uniform that looks like its been in a laundry bag or shoes that have never seen a polish brush. I feel dressing out of turn so to speak goes both ways, uniformed or not.

To stay on topic, I woun't comment on physical fitness

Re: Non Uniformed Staff Clothing

Here is the problem with the wrinkle bomb uniforms we have now. The material sucks... Sorry folks but I am not going to waste the money to dryclean my uniforms, not when I am paying almost 4 bucks a gallon to get to work. Nor am I going to spend any more time ironing my uniforms. If they were made with a wrinkleguard technology that is out there, we wouldnt have this problem, but once again the BOP went with the cheapest bidder on this one. so we are left with crap that doesnt work. Personally I dont know every institution doesnt have a drycleaner program. I would bring my uniforms in to the camp and let them press my uniforms. It would promote a more professional image for us and oh yeah, it would be free... And its not like the sweatshops that currently are in the community employ model citizens, I imagine some of those are either illegal imigrants or some shady folks, no different than some of the campers we have in our joints.
