most dangerous or unusual weapon found in a cell search
Saw a show where a guy was in the SHU for building a bomb in his cell, another one where an inmate built a 38 caliber gun out of pipes, seems like it would be easier to try getting bullets in prison then making a zip gun, what are some of the things you have found?

i didnt find it, but i saw it......
a machete made from a lawn mower blade.

A 10'' piece of razor wire with the bottom 4'' blades removed (how I don't know) and said bottom 4'' wrapped with tape. Also had a lanyard attached. Probably one of the most dangerous weapons I've seen. More like a flailing weapon....couldn't stab w/ it. But It would probably cause a lot of chaos if you went to hacking away w/ it.

A rolled up Maxim magazine reinforced with tape,a s**t load of match heads, and a pile of metal ends off a pencil and assorted lil' sharp pieces. Doubt it would kill a person,but I can imagine the result of dropping a bean hole and having it go off in my face. That was probably 10 years ago or better,found in Seg..

We used to find toothpaste tubes filled with matchheads and wrapped with electrical tape.
The explosion shook the cell house when it went off. Haven't seen them for a long long time

haven't seen anything like that on these prison shows did see the mythbusters about the inmate crossbow, dont know if you would really have the time to build it, and hiding it would be another problem its huge and made out of magazines.

The most unusual...a newspaper, wetted down, sprinkled with ajax, rolled tightly and let dried..into a spear.
A officer at San Quentin was killed with one made by the same guy in our SHU.

I remember seeing a newspaper article with a picture of an X-ray. An inmate got into a jail with a loaded derringer up his keister that was wrapped in saran wrap. BTW there was no trigger guard!!!
I forget how they discovered it. |
