Thank goodness I am off work today. This is a load of crap if you ask me. At my facility and others throughout the state we have hug-a-thug day. This means one friday each month during the summer these thugs get a day off. This really chaps my hide.
All they have to do is lay around, play games, and eat all the bbq, hot dogs and burgers they can stuff down their throats. Heck they even get to put the food in their lockers if the little guys can't eat it all. On top of all this crap. The staff is expected to serve this all you can eat buffet to these guys.

We used to have concert day for the inmates. They had rap stars come to the jails and give a concert for the inmates. Now can you imagine rap stars in new york city jails. Most of them have been locked up there themselves. The department stopped it because all it did was make them rattle their cages even more.

WoW! Sounds like a normal day in a NYS prison. But you are forgetting the "festival" part of the day, right?? The one where family members are allowed to go to the gym or yard and hang out with their scumbag loved ones. Games for the kids, and all the stuff you really should not see in a serious place, like PRISON!!! Thank god for swaps in NYS, is all I can say. I have not worked a 'festival' day yet...have always swapped off those days!!!

What you are hearing about here is the direct effect of having too many people running the organization who have social science degrees. It's what they learned in college.
