This sounds fishy....

When I originally put in my application for MCSO, I informed them that I am currently on active duty and will remain so until a certain date in the not-so-distant future. I was told that this was quite alright, and they could go all the way with the hiring process with me with the exception of sending me through the academy until I was on terminal leave. This made sense. Then I received a phone call yesterday...

I was told that they could not go through the hiring process at all with me because I'm on active duty. This is 5 days after my phone interview. I understand that they are on a complete hiring freeze, but they told me they would go as far as completing my BI before putting my application on hold. Does this sound weird to anyone else?
