Legal service for Union Members

A while ago I mean a few years,

I heard that the union had a legal service set up for their members to assist if inmates sue the staff, or if the staff needed legal advise concerning the BOP. Does any one have any info on this and is it still around?

Check with your President. He/she should be able to give you that information. What I recall about it, you can get up to $5000 per year for legal expenses. I am not sure if the union actually provides you with the attorney. Also, the agency should give you an attorney if you were acting within the scope of your employment.
