any union guys think this is worth a look into. american cancer society says that it causes an increaced risk for breast cancer and prostate cancer. Guess what is the leading cancer in men and women??????yes, prostate cancer and breast cancer.

Yea, I'm pretty sure I couldn't count on my local union to even think about taking action on something like this. They wont even return an email when you ask them a question.

There has been one study that suggests a link between certain types of cancer and working night shift. There will have to be way more studies before anyone is going to start handing out cancer checks.

Congress sets the pay rates through OPM. We could negotiate for double time if you work outside 8-4, but the bureau couldn't legally pay it.

I am just a Joe, but I believe that this issue would be out of the hands of the union as the differential pays are directed through OPM and if I am correct, are law. So perhaps, letters to Congress and the House might be in order. Do the research and put together a template and post it on here.
